Winter Wonder
20x30 Original by Kayla Cuellar, gallery framed.
After creating a smaller version of this I called, “The Wonder”, earlier in December, I found myself wanting it BIG! I had stretched some larger paper a while back and decided this was the time to use it.
Here’s how it all started: This time of year, wonder is exactly where I want to reside. I’m not as successful as I’d like to be but my heart wants to set aside time to wonder at the mystery of God, angels and a baby born of a virgin…sent to save a world gone wrong. To rescue the hopeless. To set humanity free from the one that fooled us into doubting the Goodness of God.
Wonder is defined as, “Rapt attention or astonishment at something awesomely mysterious or new to one's experience.”
I hope when you see “Winter Wonder” it resonates with the mystery of God, The Father, who loves us, extravagantly. He is the Master Creator who designs lavish wonders for us in nature and in our life's journey. And he wants us to know, in our hearts, just how high and how deep and how wide his love is for each one of us. I created this piece from a personal need to seek God and to sense that wonder in a dreary, gray Idaho desert December. It worked. May it bless you, as well.
